Peter Ward has worked in the IT and Telecommunications Industry for more than 27 years rising to a senior manager in a number of different roles ranging from technical development, deployment, operational and sales roles. As an engineer by profession he realized that it is people not technology that are the key to team success and enjoyment in life.
During his career Peter has always worked with an inclusive approach and as such has built and led many high performing cross functional teams. These have beed large and small, he strongly believes in the unleashing the potential in people to create great successes. “You can have the best products, technology and plans but if you fail to connect with and energize the people in the team the project will not succeed”.
Peter spent many years in BT, mainly in central London, leading a number of large and exciting new technology projects and programmes. Wanting to experience a different perspective Peter left BT in 2004 moving the role of Head of Solutions in Siemens Networks Ltd.
As Head of Broadband Infrastructure for BT Peter was responsible for building BTs UK Internet Infrastructure and it was during this time that he realized what cultural shift was needed, casting off all the corporate baggage, to make this huge task happen in a very short timescale and in the face of massive growth in public demand.
Part of the solution was to create the Development in Partnership Programme with John Harris. Although they worked for different companies at the time, they had a pool of talented people but realized there were deficiencies and the key was to create a high performance team. Peter met with Steve Lawlor through his interest and study of NLP and they have since worked together on many occasions.
Peter and John Harris are currently running the seventh Development in Partnership Programme in which Steve has a number of key roles.
